Production Staff for Upcoming Show
We have hired a wonderful director and her name is Judith Mazur. She has a dual bachelors degree in Education and Theatre and post graduate work in Theatre, Children's Theatre, and Education. She has 23 years experience in teaching theatre and acting and 20 years experience of directing. She is on staff at HUntington Playhouse as their Youth Instructor and director and also at Karamu Cultural Center for instructor and director. We are very excited that Judith has agreed to direct our summer production and we hope that she will help us build our theatre classes for the future. Welcome Judith!
Theatre Camp and Acting Classes
Our next big addition to the Theatre is Acting Classes. We have begun our first session and they are very successful. Twenty five students signed up and we are holding an afterschool class for children ages 9-12 and an evening class for ages 13-19. The students are home school children, and students from Medina and Buckeye schools. The classes run for 5 weeks with the 5th week being the short production for family and friends. The classes are being taught by April Needham a sophomore at Baldwin Wallace. She was highly recommended by Jack Winget, our artistic director and resident of the Buckeye community and a full time professor of theatre at Baldwin Wallace. She is working on basic theatre concepts with them and also working on audition techniques to get them ready to audition for our summer production. We are very excited about this addition and plan on having a session in the Fall and hopefully adding a summer camp next summer. We will keep you posted!

Lastly, our wonderful treasurer, Alison Oswald, has been helping us with getting our tax exempt status, and we need more volunteers for all aspects of group. If anyone would like to help or if you have any experience that you can share with us, please contact Sue at 330-725-7530. We held a preliminary organizational meeting on Sunday, March 16, 2008, but more volunteers are welcome. Please contact us, we our next meeting is planned for April and we love any and all help!
We are planning on having small groups go to the various festivals and parades around town throughout the summer and Fall to spread the good word of Buckeye Community Theatre and the Boars Head Festival. We will go in some type of costume of course. If anyone would like to join us, please let me know. Especially if you are planning on being at one of the events already!
As you can see, we are as busy as ever growing our Theatre. If anyone would like to help out with the summer production, either working, acting, or attending, just get a hold of me and I would love to answer any questions by emailing me at: airbecks@msn.com. I look forward to talking to you soon!
